Owning a Thoroughbred Racing, Breeding & Horse Care Stable was a long time coming for owners Denise & Howard Carpenter of Pelham. The 2010 expansion of their barn into a full fledged Thoroughbred Centre complete with brand new stalls, arena, turn-outs and an exercise machine began to welcome horse athletes in the fall of 2010 - a process that started in 2002.
The Carpenters are proud and responsible land stewards of their agriculturally zoned property in the Greenbelt of Pelham. Denise & Howard have worked together with the Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority with the expressed purpose to gradually turn their property into an environmentally productive space for birds, butterflies and bees as well as a place to raise their livestock, care for horses and grow food. The Conservation Authority thus far have planted in excess of 2000 plantings on the Carpenter property to attract and support various forms wildlife, with more projects planned in the future.
Denise & Howard Carpenter have always been dedicated contributors and strong advocates for the protection of agricultural land use for the purpose that it was intended.
